Yahoo plans to launch ‘onePlace’ for mobile users
March 7, 2008Yahoo!, one of the leading global Internet service providers in the world, has announced it will launch its mobile-content management tool. Named ‘onePlace’, this tool will prove beneficial for users, allowing them to manage the web-based content on their mobile devices in a more effective manner. Yahoo! ‘onePlace’ will enable the mobile users to organise their content systematically. It uses bookmarks to link to online content, including news feeds, web sites, videos, images, e-mails and search queries, making it convenient for them to stay updated.
Yahoo! ‘onePlace’ users can also place content into the customised collections, wherein they will get all the latest updates about the content placed so that they can easily cull out and merge it the way they want to. If, for instance, a user plans a holiday to Hawaii, he or she could create a “Hawaii” collection, and start linking it to useful information like weather conditions, hotel reservations, city guides, restaurant reviews, etc. If there are any changes in the flight timings, ‘onePlace’ automatically updates the relevant information.
In addition to these features, there is the Pulse feature that enables the users to prioritise and see the recent updates to all the content within Yahoo! ‘onePlace’. The mobile-content management tool is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2008.
