Yahoo launched their new display ad platform
October 5, 2008Yahoo Inc. released its new advertising platform aimed at streamlining the way digital ads are being placed and bought on the Web.
The ad platform has been under development for the past 2 years. The APT has been a prized project for Yahoo which is aimed at improving financial performance plus benefiting from the rising Internet advertising revenue.
APT is a common link between advertisers, website owners, and ad selling agencies. The automated platform offers a wide and varied range of tools to control ads. The APT will help monitor the appearance of ads, the targeting of ads and amount the users are willing to pay.
Yahoo has always been strong in terms of display advertising. Currently the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Jose Mercury News (two major newspapers) will be using the APT. As part of a consortium the newspapers have been sharing ad revenue with Yahoo. They get technical assistance in exchange. The best part is that 784 of the newspapers from the consortium will adopt the APT through next year.
APT can place ads on the right spot on the right time. Plus APT can deliver ads as per the users’ behaviour and location. As per advertisers targeting abilities are in great demand and APT serves them to fullest.
