Yahoo! designs a new homepage for its India search engine

May 14, 2008

Amidst all the media talk over its takeover by Microsoft and its falling share price, Yahoo! is quietly going about its job.

In fact, the online firm has just come up with a newly designed homepage for its India search engine. The designers and programmers have been on a testing binge to fine-tune the new home page version. It has specifically been designed for its search engine operations in India.

Being named as ‘Glue Pages’, the design covers three pages with a newspaper look and modules evocative to iGoogle and RSS newsreaders, such as Netvibes. The only difference between the two is that while the iGoogle widgets are all over the place in terms of design, the modules of Glue Pages have a cleaner and more uniform look.

Secondly, you will not be able to drag and drop the modules, or even choose from the given catalogue of modules and customise your page accordingly. Glue Pages automatically make alterations to the modules and their placement in accordance with the search keyword.
