Opera comes out with the top 10 mobile websites
August 29, 2008Opera’s recent ‘State of the Mobile Web’ report concludes that mobile usage has increased by 16% and it is most likely that mobile usage will continue to be on the rise. Advanced technologies, new enhancements and features being unveiled by Blackberry, the much publicised iPhone and other leading players have made web browsing through mobile phones much more user-friendly and easier than before, contributing to the increasing interest of online marketers.
They have given country-wide listings of the top 10 visited websites. The list was compiled from June-July in 2008. Since June, the UK’s top 10 list has shown little change overall. Bebo continues to show a rise (it improved from the ranking 8 in May to 7 in June). MSN was a new entry in the list in June at 10, but has now come up to 9. MySpace stayed at 9 for around two months but has dropped to 10.
The top 10 sites in the UK are as follows:
- google.com
- yahoo.com
- facebook.com
- bbc.co.uk
- live.com
- bebo.com (a rank up from 7)
- wikipedia.org (a rank down from 6)
- youtube.com
- msn.com (a rank up from 10)
- myspace.com (a rank down from 9)
