Online interactive advertisements are being taken to a different level with the Obama campaign that has started running online advertisements in Xbox 360’s male targeted video games like Madden NFL 09 and others such as NASCAR 09, Buenout 09, NHL 09, Need For Speed: ProStreet, Need For Speed: Carbon, NBA Live 08, Skate and NFL Tour.
The advertisements have been geographically targeted to particular swing states that include Florida, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, Nevada, Wisconsin and Ohio. The advertisements are featured on various sports locations like billboards in stadiums. The targeted players will be able to see these Obama advertisements when they will login or connect their Xbox consoles with the internet.
TheHill.com has reported on this:
“Only gamers playing online in 10 states can see the ads, which appear as stadium signage or billboards. Technology blogs this week had reported on ads popping up in the racing game ‘Burnout Paradise’. In the game, racers drive by a billboard that features the Obama’s mug next to the words ‘Early Voting Has Begun/VoteForChange.com’.”
This campaign of Obama is the first one that has run, in EA Sports games, targeted advertisements aimed at young males aged between 18 and 34.
