New interface for Yahoo! website explorer
August 28, 2008Yahoo’s Site Explorer is seen by many as a rather underrated tool that webmasters can use to tweak their website’s settings for the purpose of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Its popularity has not been anywhere near that of the Webmaster Tools provided by Google.
But the Internet firm now plans to make amends with its latest move. There is now a new interface for Yahoo website explorer. It is said that the makeover is a precursor to bigger things planned for the Site Explorer by Yahoo.
The new interface sported by Yahoo Site Explorer looks more dynamic. It includes a new summary page where statistics for authenticated websites are provided. Amongst other things, the number of rules for Dynamic URL rewriting has been increased from 3 to 10.
Also, there are links that webmasters can use, apart from tools, such as Yahoo’s Web Service API as well as links to Email preferences, Yahoo Badge, Yahoo Search Blog and Feedback links. Yahoo will be looking to win over users who have till now been concentrating on optimising for Google SERPs.
