Microsoft throws its own challenger to Google AdSense

Microsoft is all set to roll out its challenger to Google’s AdSense program, open for public testing while looking around for partners.

Following private tests that have been running for a long time, the software major is all set to release its pubCenter to beta testers in the US. The senior product marketing manager for Microsoft, Kevin McCabe called this beta service a great opportunity for site owners who want to shape an alternative contextual advertising product that will serve their needs better.

This new appeal comes as Microsoft lags behind search advertising giant Google in online revenue and ads partnerships. In addition, this has come at a time that was considered unthinkable just a year back – a slowdown on online ads spending.

McCabe said that some of the features liked by users so far include the ability to monitor the performance of their ads, customise and control their ads, and engage other users in discussions about the new product’s future. While the expectations of the new product to challenge Google are high, the company has also warned of uneven functionality and performance considering that it is a beta version.

The company hopes to launch the product soon and offer a compelling and excellent alternative in this highly competitive field.
