Marketing the new way thanks to digital technology
Witnessing many transformations, the digital platform has seen many changes in the way firms promote themselves. One of the industry commentators, Verity Gough, expressing her views in a recent article, stated that any firm ‘worth its salt’ needs to have an active online presence. She did add that traditional media channels, such as direct mail, telephone marketing and print adverts have had a huge impact on brand awareness, yet for the budget conscious nothing can beat the Internet.
According to her, tactics like search engine optimisation (SEO), marketing, newsletters and banner advertising can all attract users to a web site. Also, tools like Google Analytics enable a marketer to monitor an individual user better to understand his or her mindset when it comes to surfing. According to the latest research, over 50 per cent of the population worldwide can now access the Internet and almost 90 per cent of the online users employ search engines for finding relevant information. So, it’s crucial even for traditional business entities to boost their online presence to increase their visibility and sales.
An expert from London’s well-known online marketing firm said that an increasing number of people are now browsing mobile sites. Approximately 23 per cent of the population in the UK use mobile phones for various purposes, such as downloading content and surfing the net. The audience base is anticipated to increase in the near future.
