iMags: A new digital sales, distribution & marketing service for publishers

March 29, 2008

Pressmart Media Ltd and Curtis Circulation Company have joined hands to launch iMags, a new digital sales, distribution & marketing service for magazine publishers. This service will deploy online advertising like banners and landing pages in an effort to get readers to sign up for exclusive digital editions. It’ll enable publishers to place ads on the homepage of a specific publication. Pressmart will look to leverage its e-mail marketing capabilities with an aim to drive readers to iMags.

The president of Pressmart, Myles Fuchs, stated iMags is a digital replication of magazines, catalogues or any material that’s available in print, which can be pushed out in a Web application, distributed to a laptop, PC or handheld device. He added this service is perfect for firms that are looking to replicate the look & feel as well as the contextual quality of a printed product, but with all the powerful interactivity of multimedia. It can also stream a demonstration of a given product or a commercial video. Pages will flip and users can share and save articles, using the service.

“People go with digital partly owing to the high cost of paper & postage. iMags can still achieve contextual sans the cost of printing and mailing,” Fuchs said of the firm’s value proposition. “There’s a youth angle also since younger consumers are more digital and mobile centric.”
