Experts from the digital industry observe that businesses cannot afford to ‘cut corners’ on their website’s search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy. According to SEO experts, merely getting ranked higher when a user types in the company’s name is not enough, as it potentially still misses out on millions of online consumers who have not heard of the firm, being unable to find it.
Experts state that the lack of new traffic leads to a lack of fresh sales, which usually acts as a catalyst for the new website design project. They also point out that as Google grabs and accounts for around 75 per cent of all of the online search traffic, it is important to rank highly on the search engine giant’s results pages as well as those of other leading search engines.
Apart from boosting the page rankings, it is also important to offer an enjoyable user experience once the visitor has clicked through to the web site. Firms that market their products to other businesses must ensure they make effective use of search engine marketing tactics as the Web is now the main resource for businesses to research potential purchases.
