DiggTop: Adobe Air App for Digg Displays Images and Videos

October 12, 2008

DiggTop is an interesting Adobe Air desktop app, which scrapes as well as displays the videos and images from the Digg stories that readers choose to track. After having installing DiggTop, you can customise it. This provides categorisation that you want to follow for things like Videos, Images and News. You can then also see a slideshow of the images that are related to the stories you are reading.

As for videos, DiggTop provides a similar method of operation. A user can change the topics he or she wants to follow for video. Once the topics are selected, they will immediately appear in the app’s player, which incidentally does a good job of handling video.

At any time, you can opt to launch a browser session or even go to any specific story on Digg just by double-clicking it. This proves handy whenever you wish to have access to the popular Digg service. The app can provide most day-to-day features of Digg like reading and digging stories.

There have been many meaningless Adobe Air apps for our desktops, but DiggTop is actually a useful one. If you wish to have a quick glimpse at the happening news stories along with a slideshow of images plus the ability to play videos right next to the story, DiggTop is the app for you.
