Digg’s CEO and founder promise a location sensitive homepage

Digg’s CEO and its founder have both stated that they would like to offer homepages which are location-aware. However, the technology to achieve this is not yet within their reach.

Digg’s founder and CEO, while talking at the Web 2.0 expo, stated that in the future, users would be able to reach a localised version of Digg homepage depending upon their location.

Kevin Rose suggested that the amount of traffic on sites like Digg is very intense. This was also a clear indication of the need that is being felt to localise content so that sites like Digg can be relevant to their specific geographical terrains with ease.

Rose later also added that he was quite interested in services which were location based. While talking at the fireside chat, he also agreed that he had invested in FourSquare.

The social networking website is eager for a future full of changes. Digg Trends is one such change which will allow the website which attracts 40 million users in a month to reach the 100 million mark. The duo however, has not given any specific time frame within which they would like to achieve this.
