Beta version of Office Live Workspace released by Microsoft
March 6, 2008Microsoft has just announced the launch of its beta version of Microsoft Office Live Workspace. It is a web-based extended version of Office Suite that will make it easier for users to create and store different kinds of documents on the Internet. This new service includes features like activity panel, which enables users to see all the activities in the workspace at a glance, there are notifications about e-mails and changes in the documents and workspaces. Users can also book mark their workspace with the help of unique URL in the browser window and can also upload multiple files. This service also allows its 500 million Office users worldwide to organise share and save more than 1000 Microsoft documents online from almost any computer in the world having internet access.
Microsoft Office Live Workspace service is made available worldwide in English and people signing up for it will be granted immediate access. In fact, the company is launching sweepstakes with $100,000 as top prize for its US beta testers. These sweepstakes will run till May 11. Participants, who would like to participate, will need to register in the beta program. Additionally, it also plans to award more than 30,000 prizes. The final version of this service is likely to be released later this year.
