Use Google Trends To Increase Pay Per Click Success

January 14, 2008

Running a pay per click campaign can involve taking information from all kinds of sources to help you find those niche keywords, set your bid levels and bidding strategy or design your ads.

Google Trends
is a tool designed to show, as the name implies, the trends in searches for certain keywords since the start of 2004 and updates daily. You can even narrow the trends down to one of 70 countries and then again to regions within those countries.

For example, you can find that ‘bluetooth‘ is searched more often than ‘wifi’ or that Blackberry is increasing its lead on Treo.

Sometimes these differences don’t amount to much but at other times they can make a real different. It can really help your pay per click campaign when looking at seasonal fluctuations or spotting overall trends when deciding on keyword or even features of your ad. For example, when sellings televisions, do people search for ‘hdtv’ or ‘high definition’?

Pay per clicksuccess depends on staying ahead of your competition and every tool helps.
