Social Networks Overtake Webmail

According to data from web intelligence company Hitwise, social networks have now overtaken web based email services in terms of visits. I think this is an important milestone and is a strong indicator of how the internet will evolve in the coming years. If advertiser’s needed anymore convincing about the importance of social networking, this is surely it?
