SEO Programmer (Cheshire)

The Natural SEO Team is responsible for analysing prospective clients’ websites in order to recommend SEO strategies, as well as carrying out all the programming work on clients’ websites, ensuring the best possible visibility for the website within the main search engines. The team uses a custom built project management system and a quality management process to ensure the highest level of service for our clients.

Main Purpose of Job:

The SEO Programmer is responsible for defining, implementing and monitoring effective SEO strategies across a number of our clients’ web sites on a daily basis. This is a technical, hands on role, where you will be liaising with clients to achieve the required results as well as continual optimisation. Knowledge of HTML is an absolute must, as is knowledge of an additional language such as PHP or ASP. It is not necessary to have experience in search engine optimisation as long as you have an interest in the field and a willingness to learn, as full SEO training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse prospective clients’ websites to build an SEO brief
  • Interpret SEO & Sales briefs to plan and implement programming work on clients’ websites
  • Liaise with the client to problem solve and implement necessary changes to client’s website
  • Offer solutions and options for clients’ issues
  • Highlight failings in campaign results and make “corrections”
  • Become an integral part of the Programming department and support the introduction of innovative proposals through supporting evidence and research
  • Carry out department administration, research and intelligence gathering as instructed by management
  • Portray the company values at all times

Person Specification

Programming Languages Essential Desirable
A good working knowledge of HTML/XHTML x
A good working knowledge of PHP (priority) or ASP or both PHP or ASP both

Knowledge of current database technologies (MS SQL, My SQL, Access) x
Knowledge of current server technologies (IIS, Apache) x
Experience
Experience in developing websites (in a commercial, academic or personal capacity) x
Experience in dealing with customers x

Confidence in programming x
Ability to learn alternative programming languages x
An understanding of SEO principles x
Able to communicate effectively via written media x
Able to interpret, discuss and visualize own ideas as well as other people’s to a high standard x
