SEO is like Cooking Good Food

“A master chef, is a good SEO

How? When the time comes for us to make the evening meal for guests and family, a lot of planning and preparation is required; namely:

  • Think of what to cook
  • Go out and spend time searching for quality, authentic ingredients
  • Use the correct equipment
  • Be aware of safety tips
  • Follow directions
  • Be patient
  • Enjoy!

Now, what does this have to do with SEO?

The amount of time a person uses to plan and cook food for guests is huge when compared to how long that food is going to take to eat! However for SEO, more effort is required but the ratio of return can be far greater than that of cooking and eating good food!

So, back to SEO.
  • When planning your SEO strategy, you need to think.
Think about how you are going to conduct your SEO.

    • Are you going to buy links?
    • Will you link bait?
    • Will you hire a professional SEO?
  • Browse the internet and spend time researching SEO and searching for quality, high PR links.
Good ingredients make good food. Good likes produce good rankings.
  • Use the Correct tools and resources.
Don’t go using out-of-date tools and resources that emphasise the Meta Keyword tag is everything SEO. No, rather use the likes of SEOMoz.
  • Be aware of safe SEO techniques (white-hat) and the not so safe ones (black-hat).
This will ensure you will rank high and remain high. It’s no good to rank on page 1 for one day and then fall back down to say, page 13.
  • Follow proven techniques and instructions, ie. hire professionals.
  • Be Patient. You have heard this before and I will mention it again, be patient. SEO isn’t a one day/week/month process. It can take years.
  • Sit back, relax and enjoy you top rankings and high traffic!

Once you reach page 1 rankings, then you will generally stay there for a long time (unless of course the industry is competitive or your competitors optimise their sites even better). This is why SEO is an ongoing process.
