So you’ve finally caught onto the idea that a website can be a good marketing tool, don’t worry its not to late yet. Our SEO sales staff seem to be coming up with the problem that many people want to be seen in the Natural listings of the search engines, but are not happy when we give them a timescale for what it might take.
We are well aware that companies will tell you that they will have you number one in Google in two weeks and unfortunately this is not the case. Natural listings are natural and that is the one pitfalls of Natural Search Engine Optimisation. Of course pay per click has the advantage of instant listings but most people are aware that Internet users will always use the Natural listing first.
So if you have a brand new domain name and have just set up the website you have to be aware that to have any sort of Internet Establishment this can take from six months to two years. We have recently seen this with a client who we have optimised their website. Submitted to the search engines and then have been building up the amount of links and site that talk about it.
The site in question received results in many smaller search engine very quickly, then after a few months achieved results in the second and third major engines of MSN and Yahoo. It then took eight months later before suddenly all the phrases we had optimised the site under appeared in Google. The site is now getting approx 30 – 100 visits per day from natural listings.
So if you are thinking of using Natural Search Engine Optimisation be aware that the hardest part is the first year.
