Search Engine Optimisation in 2007 - December 30, 2006

So as we approach 2007 how Search engines going to work and how will this
affect our SEO strategies in 2007?

One thing is that immediately things won’t change, there is much dispute
about how SEO will end up in the future, and one thing I am confident with
is that Paid advertising will not take over completely. People feel more
confident with the fact that they have the choice of paid and natural
listings and in the UK it generally get 70% - 30 % people clicking on the
natural listings compared to the Paid listings.

One thing which will have a big impact is social book marking, Google has
already looked into this with the emergence of Google co-op, however this
will take a number of years before it can take over as a fully functional
way of finding information. Again social book marking can still be
manipulated so the art of Search Optimisation will never die.

For the immediate time we need to focus on;

  • Quality of links matters, not quantity.
  • Be careful about link exchanges
  • Get links from relevant sites
