Page Rank Update

April 30, 2008

In the last few days seo and webmaster professionals alike have been noticing significant changes to the page rank of their websites. For example some of our own client’s sites have moved from page rank 1 to page rank 4. This recent page rank update has also seemed to create quite a stir in the webmaster community and many are unsure what to expect.

Although these updates are occurring our advice remains the same. Concentrate your efforts on building quality, unique and usable websites which people will enjoy coming to time and time again. At Just Search much of our emphasis is put on content. If you create new, fresh and exciting content people will visit your site time and time again. This should help develop a community atmosphere around your site and encourage natural link building, which of course Google loves.

You may also wish to review the quality of your code and ensure that it uses up to date techniques and complies with accessibility standards. Tidying up the quality of your code should make it easier for Google to crawl your sites and of course improve the overall performance of your website.

In essence there are many things you could look at but users should not get to hung up on page rank. Webmasters should concentrate on the quality of their site and making it relevant to the market within which they operate.
