On the 11th August 2005 we talked about the problems of companies using sub domains and their results in the search engine rankings.

One of our own clients who we carried out SEO work on was using a sub domain of its previous hosting company.

The problem was the client then fell out of the rankings. After much research we could only come up with the result that the client site or sub domain was being penalised.

We now know this was true as 6 days after our previous posting we have transferred the domain name to our name servers, we got the clients site spidered and then the results started coming in on 9 of the major search engine including Google, Yahoo and MSN.
