Internet Marketing- PPC Vs SEO

PPC and SEO are two internet marketing areas we at Just Search focus on, but what are the benefits of each of these campaigns?

Pay per click is generally a great short term solution to generating traffic, as soon as your PPC campaign has been set up you will start receiving visitors almost instantly. This is great if you want to promote a new item/website and start receiving targeted traffic immediately.

The drawbacks of PPC campaigns are that they can be very costly. If your site is pushing in a competitive area, you can become involved in an expensive bidding war. Once you stop paying for PPC your traffic will cease to exist, it has also been proven that the majority of users do click on natural listings.

Natural search engine optimisation is a longer term solution which can’t be ignored. Link building campaigns can often be expensive, but if you adopt proper keyword targeting techniques through the correct channels, and utilise the appropriate on-page optimisation you’ll receive great benefits that can be seen for years to come.

Once you have obtained a good natural listing the generated traffic will far outweigh the traffic you obtained through your PPC campaigns.

My Recommendations..

If your site is new and not yet got any natural listings, set up a PPC campaign targeting your key areas, at the same time start your SEO campaign. Keyword performance information can be gathered from your PPC account to help you target the best areas in your SEO campaign

Once you start to receive good listings in your natural campaign, you have the option to reduce or drop your PPC campaign completely. Your PPC budget could then be focused on enhancing your natural listings, which will generate more traffic to your site.

Here at Just Search we have detailed knowledge of both PPC and SEO, and can help your business achieve its marketing potential
