Use Brand and Logos to Increase Conversions

October 8, 2008

It often can only take a small change to your landing page to improve the chances of conversions once traffic reaches your site. Today I will talk about using branding and logos to help achieve your goals.

Firstly, one of the main problems on the internet is that there is no transparency, meaning that there is no physical shop or show room and no sales person to speak to. For this reason your website has to project a professional image and instil trust to the user.

In PPC we use the most relevant landing page for each search query in order to generate a positive quality score and fulfil the users search query as effectively as possible.? However, if your site looks amateurish it is unlikely the most effective campaign will manage to convert for you.

If you sell products for a particular brand having their logo on your landing page will increase confidence in your site as well as make your products stand out on the page. You can also improve the usability of your site by making the logo a link to that section of your products.

For e-commerce sites it is important to display the fact that you use secure technology to take payments. If your analytics shows that you have a high bounce rate or that your users are dropping out at the payment section of the funnel process, it is likely that they are reluctant to enter their payment details onto your site.

Any awards your company have won or qualifications your staff have achieved should also be displayed on your site; often these have logos too. This all adds to the users trust and experience of your site and helps to build a positive impression of your business.
