How do you use your SMO?

I get asked questions a lot at the moment regarding how we should be adapting SMO for our business. To be honest, this is a brilliant question to ask as there are companies out there who will not be using SMO to the best of its ability. Below, I have put together a number of methods that SMO can be used for.

  • Brand Management – Using SMO to control your brand reputation. You can respond quickly to any negative press about your company or brand.
  • Customer Service – You can use SMO to communicate with customers quickly and easily.
  • Launch of New Products – SMO can be adapted so that you push all your new products through SMO. This means that you are giving coverage to a wider audience through different avenues of SMO, such as twitter.
  • Coverage – You could class this as being part of brand management in some areas. Coverage is basically achieving first page of Google for your Brand. To do this means that if your clients look for your brand, they will only see you on the first page of Google and not your clients.

These are a few methods that can be incorporated for SMO. Remember, you need to think about what you want to achieve out of your SMO campaign before you can even look at what social media tools can be used to achieve this.

To achieve a successful SMO campaign you must first produce a good strategy on how you will do this.
