Google vs. Yahoo vs. Bing

Microsoft’s new search engine Bing has had a while to bed in and people are now wondering if they should make the switch. I stumbled across an interesting tool called Blind Search that allows you to enter your query and get results from Google, Yahoo and Bing without seeing who came up with what. It only shows you who came up with the results when you vote for the one with the most relevant results. It should allow for one of the first truly unbiased comparisons of the major search engines around today.

Of course, there is a certain element of trust that is involved. The guy that came up with the idea works for Microsoft but insists that the project is his own and is not biased in any way. Unfortunately, the site has been hit by someone who messed around with the results. It looks like you can now view who the results came from with a simple view-source; hopefully the developer will sort out this issue and will re enable the results soon. It will certainly be interesting to see how well Bing and the others perform in comparison.

I still doubt that this is going to change much though. Many people, myself included, are so set in our ways now in using Google that it is going to take something truly monumental to make us switch to using another search engine.

  2. You may see there is no monopolysm in Searching the websites and getting viruses.

Personally, I liked the ysearch because of the alert message given for certain websites mentioned as “Warning: Dangerous Downloads”

If this feature is included in google or in bing…..
Still I hope none is great…
