Google Checkout Trends Launched

January 17, 2008

As correctly highlighted by Lianne Google Trends is a great tool which enables you to compare keyword’s popularity side by side. Google has just launched another tool which complements Google Trends. Google Checkout Trends enables you to compare actual purchases by aggregating anonymous Google Checkout merchant’s sales data.

If you want to know which particular brand is selling best before you get in stock; or what’s the best time of the year to sell blue widgets Google Checkout Trends might help you. At the moment the only data available is amount of purchases, cross referenced with revenue history and there’s statistics from late 2006 onwards.
I’m sure that this tool will benefit from constant future updates and that will get better with time. When used in conjunction with Google Trends and some other popular keyword tools, it will help you gather interesting stats to help you making important decisions.

  1. I use trends with my google feed reader as well, as a programmer, patterns are always interesting to look at.
