SEO - Google Blog Search

March 28, 2006

The number of blogs on the internet has grown to phenomenal numbers over the past few years, and many of them are valuable resources for up-to-the-minute information. Of course, with the sheer number of blogs on the web, it was only a matter of time before the search engines created specialised blog searches to help filter the good from the bad. Unsurprisingly, Google was the first to release a dedicated blog search service, and although it has been available for several months, it is still relatively unknown.

Take at look http://blogsearch.google.com/ and try typing in a keyword phrase you are familiar with. If for example you type in “Search Engine Optimisation”, which is a phrase which is highly relevant to the theme of our website, you will notice that approximately 80% of the entries on the first page of results are for Just Search.

Look closely at the listings and you will notice a common theme. I’m not going to disclose what that theme is as I would like you to work it our for yourselves, but the point I’m trying to make is that it is not only important to optimise your main web pages, but also pay particular attention to your blog
