Ethical and Unethical Search Engine Optimization SEO

So what are the Ethical issues regarding Search Engine Optimization. Search Engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo state on their own websites that webpages that use Unethical SEO techniques will have their listing downgraded or even band from the directory for using Black Hat SEO techniques.

Blackhat SEO is used alot in Search Engine Marketing however clients only see short term results where their website appears in the SERP’s under their givern key phrases for a short period and then they lose any listing at all. Blackhat SEO examples; Black Text on Black Background or other methods that fool the search engine spiders to giving a website a tempory higher ranking.
