One of the principal aims of a good Pay Per Click campaign is to achieve high click through rates on the display ads. A click through rate can be defined as …
Click-through rate or CTR is a way of measuring the success of an online advertising campaign. A CTR is obtained by dividing the number of users who clicked on an ad on a web page by the number of times the ad was delivered (impressions). For example, if your banner ad was delivered 100 times (impressions delivered) and 1 person clicked on it (clicks recorded), then the resulting CTR would be 1%. source:wikipedia.org
So how do you achieve this? Well you start by creating, relevant, attractive copy that is related to the keyterm being queried by the user. Also you can install call to action phrases such as “Buy Online” or “Apply Today”. Furthermore you can describe the products/services with adjectives that will seem appealing to the person reading them. Like “Quality products at Low Prices” or “Top Brands at Rock Bottom prices”. What you should always check though is that the site that you are directing traffic to does actually have competitive prices and the quality products your advertising. If they don’t your efforts will mostly likely be in vain as the user is unlikely to convert as they will have been expecting to see what they read on the ad. To overcome this, look for other appealing factors or any USP’s the site has, such as free/fast delivery.
