Tony Meehan Appointment - May 15th, 2007

Just Search strengthens with Meehan appointment

Expanding internet marketing specialist, Just Search, has given further notice of its intent by appointing the highly experienced Tony Meehan as its new head of paid search.

With fourteen years’ industry experience, Tony (42) boasts a long and enviable track record which has seen him focus primarily on delivering return on investment for his many notable clients, which over the years have included the likes of Eidos, Sony Playstation, Coral and JD Sports.

Arriving at Just Search after a two year stint as head of digital media with the BJL Advertising Group (BJL), Tony comes with a brief to establish the company as a leading player in the PPC market. He comments: “The Just Search name has been on everybody’s radar for some time now. However, as the company has grown, so has the need to establish itself not just as a leading search engine optimisation (SEO) specialist but also as a provider of innovative pay-per-click (PPC) solutions.

“My aim now is to use my experience as an innovator and someone with credible business development skills in order to help redefine this business by making it even more competitive and ultimately taking it to where everybody wants it to be.”

After beginning his career in 1993, Tony founded Hercules Communications the following year and immediately set about building a hugely successful business. As well as winning the BIMA Award for website of the year in 1996, he also introduced the internet to the FA Premier League in 1994, signing contracts with 17 of the 20 then clubs for their official sites before managing all aspects of their content and commercial strategy.

After four years of consistent growth, Hercules Communications was sold for £10m in 1998, after which Tony spent four years as managing director of new owners, Fast Search and Transfer (FAST), conceiving and driving new product development in the search sector.

Following a two year spell in a similar position with the Atlantis Innovations Group and another year as an independent online marketing consultant, Tony became head of digital media at BJL from where he now joins Just Search managing director, Paul Yates, in looking to drive the ambitious Cheshire company forward. Tony continues: “The potential for success here is simply phenomenal. The idea of working with a number of like-minded and ambitious professionals is extremely exciting and I am looking forward to playing my part as we continue to progress.”

Paul Yates is equally excited at the prospect of teaming up with one of the leading players in internet marketing, adding: “This appointment represents a great coup for Just Search and everyone here is delighted to have someone of Tony’s experience and know-how on board.

“Part of his challenge will be to attract bigger and more established clients to our business but we know from Tony’s standing in the industry that he can achieve anything he wants to and again, the fact that he chose to do that here speaks volumes for this company.”

In addition to attracting new clients to Just Search, Tony also aims to show existing clients just how effective any internet marketing campaign can be when an intelligent PPC campaign works alongside an effective SEO programme. He concludes: “There is a huge potential benefit in dovetailing strategy between PPC and SEO. My vision will see us demonstrate our success in delivering successful campaigns to our clients so that we can quickly establish Just Search as the leading name in web marketing.”

Away from the office, Tony has three children, supports Manchester City and is a keen musician, writing and recording his own guitar based material in the small studio he has at his Stockport home.

Just Search backs Stockport County with website sponsorship - February 7th, 2007

With the team now riding high in League Two, Stockport County FC has unveiled another key acquisition, with leading search engine optimisation (SEO) specialist, Just Search, having agreed a four figure X year deal to become the new sponsor of the club’s official website.

Just Search managing director, Paul Yates, has already demonstrated his support for the club by taking an advertising board in a prime position behind the Railway End goal at Edgeley Park. That led to the Adlington-based company receiving national exposure on television and in various newspapers and Paul is now delighted to be taking the association further. He comments: “Football is a passion which I share with many of the Just Search team and it’s great that we are in a position to support our local club this way.

“The commercial benefits of being associated with Stockport County are excellent and with our business being internet based, it made sense for us to see whether we could extend our involvement by becoming the official sponsors of the club’s website.”

Stockport County commercial manager, Martin Booker, is equally pleased with a deal which will see the Just Search name sitting proudly at the head of each page of the site, which regularly attracts X,000 hits per day: He comments: “As an internationally renowned leader in its field, Just Search is a big name and a very strong brand.

“SEO is something that most businesses can use to their advantage and I’m sure that numerous companies including many of our other sponsors could benefit greatly from Just Search’s services. Either way, I’m sure that everyone connected with Stockport County will be pleased to see us attract this level of sponsorship from such an eminent organisation.”

Looking forward to a long association with the club, Paul concludes: “Everybody wants to be associated with success and I’m sure that with Jim Gannon presiding over the recent up-turn in fortunes on the park, Just Search is getting on the Stockport County roller coaster as it starts to climb towards another pinnacle.

“There’s a great feeling around Edgeley Park these days and in addition to having been made to feel part of the Stockport County family, I’m sure that in purely business terms, Just Search will continue to benefit from its association with the club.”
