The Just Search Competition Manager is a plugin for Wordpress that allows you to add a competition to the sidebar of your site very easily. You can also add a picture and a little description for each competition. What you decide to offer as a prize is up to you!

Installation

To install the Competition Manager follow these steps:

• Download the Competition Manager from the Wordpress plugin centre.
• Unzip and upload this to your plugin folder (/wp-content/plugins/).
• Go into the Plugins section of the administration menu in Wordpress and activate the plugin.
• Navigate to Manage->Competition and create a new competition.
• You can display a competition using the widget provided (go to design->widget and press ‘add’ on the Competition widget) or by placing the code [competition_id] (where ‘id’ is the id of the competition) in the text of your post.

Scribd
Get an account on Scribd and then start adding some content. Scribd is a site that allows you to upload lots of different formats of content which can then be viewed on the site by anybody. The good thing is that the site has a lot of users and generates a lot of traffic so if you create your documents with links back to your site in them you will find users visiting your site through this document.

Additionally, Scribd has it’s own internal search, which gets spidered by search engines. So if you create lots of articles about different things to do with your site then the chances are that when someone searches on Google for a keyword they will find your site and the documents that you wrote in Scribd.

Squidoo
Set up some Squidoo lenses. Squidoo works in the same way as Scribd, but in this case all content is HTML pages not uploaded content. However, you can still follow the same tactic as you did with Scribd and get the same result.

Social Bookmarking
Start submitting your best content to as many social bookmarking sites as you can find. You will find that many social bookmarking sites have a few standard rules about content submission. The basic rule of thumb is to submit pages from your own sites, but don’t submit EVERY page. In addition, along with submitting your own content, you should submit other pages from other sites. This will create you a really powerful social bookmarking profile and will allow you to generate hundreds of visitors for every page that you submit.

Finally, get signed up to OnlyWire or SocialMarker as these sites will allow you to submit to multiple social bookmarking sites at the touch of a button. They basically reduce hours of work into 5 minutes.
