It was only a matter of time - June 26th, 2006

Google has once again taken initiative from their think-tank, Microsoft. As with the dark side vs. the light side, the battle for paid link services has always been one that Google has dominated. That was until Microsoft included a simple feature into its new AdCenter service, dayparting.

Dayparting essentially allows users of the service to schedule what part of the day or week their ads will show. Giving an example that retailers may want to run more ads at prime times, such as lunchtime. The whole scheme is geared towards giving the retailer more control over their ads.

Surprise, surprise once Google caught wind of what MS was doing they have integrated their own version of dayparting into AdWords.
Along with localised searching dayparting will add yet another dimension to the behemoth that is AdWords.
