So you’ve signed up for one of these budget or cheap web design companies. Can you make it online using a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor? However you are not receiving any listings or at some point did have minor listings but slowly lost them.
One of our recent clients fell into this category. I will not name the company as they gave the client the service he had paid for, the problem was his domain name http://www.properties4cash.co.uk was forwarding to another domain. Our clients domain name was not in the search engine and so after advising the client we may have to change his hosting to align to its own part of the server. The problem then is time scales, to align the domain to another server and submit a new domain name can add a further timescale to activation. But we put our guarantee between 60 and 90 days.
We did what the client wished and after a few weeks we had 90% of the clients search phrases on the front page of google. The problem was the client then fell out of the rankings. After much research we could only come up with the result that the client site or sub domain was being penalised.
Our work around after noticing this was to align the clients domain of http://www.properties4cash.co.uk to our own server. We have now done this and have submitted this domain to the Search Engines.
We are confident that when the new domain is spidered our client should receive his results within a few week period.
Keep an eye out!

It’s 9am and the first cold call comes in, ” I can’t find you on any of the search engines” blah blah blah, ” our company can guarantee you a front page listing for your website on all the search engines for only £250″.
Well how many times have you heard that? Any company who states that are liars, full stop. First thing, how do they know which keywords you would like you use, have they researched them prior to the call, have they carried out link analysis, have they checked your page rank, do they know whether you are in the Dmoz or Yahoo directory already, do they know how old your domain is and where it is hosted? I don’t think so. These are all very important things an SEO consultant needs to know before quoting a price or carrying out optimisation work on a client’s website. Here at Just Search, these are just a few of the things we take into account before setting a price for search engine optimisation on any particular website; all websites are different and no quote is the same as the other.
All industries require variable levels of attention when it comes to optimising a client’s website. If a client has a new domain name then extra work will be needed to implement a linking campaign including priority directory submissions and continuous monitoring of emails answering reciprocal link exchange requests. You have to realise before you optimise your website that front page listings don’t happen over night. I spoke to a customer today who was asking why he couldn’t find his website on the front page of Google. I checked my notes and informed the chap that it had only been 6 days since I had completed the work on his site.
Don’t expect results overnight, no search engine optimisation consultant has contacts with Google, Yahoo or MSN etc, so can they can not speed up the process; patience is a virtue. Let the search engines crawl your website naturally and monitor your results yourself over a 60 to 90 day period. When the time comes and your SEO consultant has fulfilled their promises, you will find your self purchasing another 12 months of search engine marketing with Just Search Ltd.
